Pallet knife oil paintings of my abstract self, as genetic parts of my children

Continuing to explore the themes of overlooked, lost and unusable materials from my furniture sculptures, I was constantly amused by the discoveries of forgotten things that these home staples consumed. These treasures of junk and not-quite-garbage literally slipped through the cracks to an undisturbed resting place; remaining there until their hosts were deconstructed.  Forgotten & Discarded things among Discarded & Forgotten things.  Showcasing them in watercolor and gouache presents these items as both ephemeral yet vibrant. The subjects echo the ideas of waste and salvage of their larger counterparts that reinforces their quiet, smaller existences.
